This Policy outlines the data which CTUR collects on users and the way in which these data are used and stored.
This policy does not refer to data which are collected as part of CTUR’s primary research activities, rather the personal information submitted by users when registering an account on www.timeuse.org. If you have participated in a survey or research project and would like more information about your data please contact us.
What data do we collect?
When you create an account on www.timeuse.org you provide us with the following information:
- Title
- Full Name
- Email address
- Institution/place of work
- Work sector
- Your research area
- Gender (accounts created before March 2016 only)
How do we use your data?
Your personal data is used primarily for authentication of accounts, and to provide you with access to the MTUS data files. In addition to this we also use your data to collect descriptive statistics about our overall user base for the purpose of reporting on the impact of our research. We may, for example, report that we have n number of users from the academic sector. We will not, however, reveal any personal information about individual users in our reports.
How long is data kept for?
We will keep data for as long as is required to give you access to your CTUR account. Anonymised descriptive statistics will be kept for longer periods of time such as is required by our reporting commitments.
Do we share your data?
No. Your personal data is used only by CTUR and is not shared with any third-parties. Anonymised descriptive statistics which cannot identify you will be included in our reporting.
Where is your data stored?
All data is stored within the EU except where an external registration service such as Eventbrite has been used. Information provided to third-party organisations is stored according to their respective policies. Information provided to Eventbrite, for example, is stored in the US.
How is data kept secure?
Your data is stored on secure servers which can only be accessed by verified website administrators.
