The Centre for Time Use Research, Department of Sociology seeks enthusiastic researchers to work collecting and archiving national-level time use diary surveys. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the study of time-use at the University of Oxford.

The successful candidates will be working with Professor Jonathan Gershuny and his team, engaging in small scale project management, documenting and analysing data from a variety of sources, leading to new archiving and research projects. They will be involved in data harmonisation, documentation and related archiving activities and collaborating in the preparation of archive documentation and research publications. They will also represent the archiving and research group at external meetings/seminars, either with other members of the group or alone, and manage their own research and administrative activities.

The successful candidates will hold or be near to completing a PhD, together with relevant experience. They will possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within established archiving and research programmes, with the ability to use advanced programming functions in at least one of SPSS, R, STATA or SAS.

There are three full-time posts available on a fixed-term contract, (two posts for 3 years and one post for 2 years with the possibility of extension for a third year).
