Study Title: The 1988 Bulgarian National Time Use Survey
Collector: Central Statistical Office, Institute of Sociology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences
When Conducted: 1988 (diaries collected each day of the year; aim to contact 30 households per day)
Sampling Method and Study Design: Random national sample (10% master sample extracted from 1985 Census lists) all members of households asked to complete diaries, regardless of age, (though proxy diaries taken from carers of very young, very sick, and very disabled people, and people away from home mailed questionnaires, asked to self-complete and mail back time diary sample members interviewed about their activities on the previous day (24 hour period) also recorded what people purchased and how much they paid for it. The diaries collected main activity, secondary activity and location
Sample Size: 9,029 households (27,506 time diaries)
